Unlike a church ceremony a civil ceremony can be hosted at many different venues, with massive possibilities allowing you and your partner to choose the perfect place for you and your very special day. There are masses of factors that you should consider before making your final choice on a venue, and things you may wish to comprehend that may be particular to you and your wants and needs. Some things to consider are.
The distance. How far away is the venue from where your getting ready and spending the night ? If you’re not getting married right next to or in the Hotel that you are staying in you must think about travel, bearing in mind that the longer the distance away the longer you have to wait, resulting in an increase in nerve and creases themselves. Half an hour is an expectable distance but don’t forget to think about traffic and congestion. The last thing you want is to be late on your special day.
Think about how easy it is to find the venue, you may know where it is but will your guests be able to find it? Is it sign posted? A map may be suggestible if it is in a inconvenient location. But this is an important factor, it’s now good walking down the Aisle all alone cause no one could find it. And on top of this how is the parking? Its easy to forget to check that there are sufficient parking facilities for all your guests.
Seating capacity, it’s always good to have in mind the approximate amount of people you expect to attend the wedding, you don’t need the hassle of worrying about lack of seating space as the guest pile in. Its recommendable that you over estimate for seating by about 10%, it’s better to be safe.
The state of the building and the grounds. This is the most important day of your life, the last thing you want people thinking about is the shabby uncared for state of the building, cracked windows, flaky paintwork. The bride should be the one drawing the attention today ! As for the grounds the same applies, jus think about the amount of photos taken on the grounds outside. First impressions count and last !
Check out the music system, venues may claim to have a top of the range surround sound CD player but could end up rolling out a decades old portable player. It doesn’t take long to check and the little details will matter.
Finally, the cost. Some venues will ask for no payment especially if you are holding the reception there afterwards, it’s best to know from the off if you will have a charge for the use of their facilities and services.
