When a pair of motorcycle fanatics planned their recent wedding, they opted to arrive at their chosen wedding venue amidst a procession of more than 100 other bikers.

The 31 year old bride Jenny Hadfield and her 47 year old husband to be arrived at the Pastures Lodge Hotel in Mexborough accompanied by members of the Yamaha Virago-Star Owners Club in Doncaster for a Rocky Horror themed - bikers wedding ceremony.

The couple were wed by the registrar at the hotel in the presence of more than 350 family and friends, and two guards of honour on motorcycles.

The happy couple joined the convoy of more than 100 other Yamaha enthusiasts and travelled from Doncaster’s’ Castle Park Rugby Club to the hotel.

After the ceremony had taken place the couple and their guests, some of whom had turned out in fancy dress for the occasion, headed back to the Rugby club in order to resume celebrations which had gotten underway the night before the wedding as a combined hen/stag stag night.

The groom had expected to see many of his fellow bikers on his big day but was astonished at just how many turned out to wish him and his bride well. He said:-

“I couldn’t believe how many turned up. There were bikers there from all around Britain as well as from Holland, Switzerland and Germany. It really made our day and they looked after us like royalty.”

 

It seems that themed weddings are increasing in popularity at the moment and a pair of Star Wars fans recently married in a ‘Jedi’ themed wedding in the Oregon, USA.

Newly weds Rebecca D’Madeiros and Bill Duda both 36 held their nuptials in their own back yard. The intergalactic ceremony and following festivities took more than nine months to design and arrange.

The Star Wars crazy twosome insisted that their family and friends attended their wedding fully clad as characters from the range of Star Wards films.

The groom, a school teacher said of the wedding:-

“Rebecca and I are massive fans of the films and when were planning the wedding we thought why not Star Wars? It was a lot of fun - after all, it’s not everyday you get to be married by Yoda. You have never seen people more excited to be dressed up in Star Wars gear. Everybody totally got into the swing of things”.

With the bride decked out as Mon Mothma and the groom dressed as Admiral Ackbar from the Star Wars series, the couple were escorted into their garden by a procession of Imperial Storm-troopers. The wedding was officiated by Yoda and Princess Leia in her legendary gold bikini acted as the ring bearer during the ceremony!

The wedding party was encouraged to trust in their instincts and feel the force akin to any respectable Jedi knight!

 

Although a themed wedding is not for all couples,  there is surely no better way to give your nuptials a buzz.
