The magazines are full of all the glitz, glamour and decadence of celebrity weddings and the shocking price tags that go with it. However if you are a couple saving up to get married in the UK the thought of clocking up a £10,000 bill by the time the big day is over might be enough to put you off.
If you’re on a tight budget fear not! There are ways you can cut back on the cost:
Discount Vouchers - Don’t be ashamed to use these things! You can usually find them for everything. Save money on anything from your wedding dress to booking your after party venue. Search around for discount vouchers and you are sure to cut costs.
Guests – On a tight budget you need to give the guest list some serious thought. When you initially start planning in all the excitement the first draft of your guest list might stretch into the hundreds! However leave it a week and then look again and start to trim it down. You may decide to invite only close friends and family so that you don’t risk offending anyone.
Invitations – Invites can be very expensive and yet you can easily create your own. This is always a lovely idea as you can add your own personal touch to the invitation. Head to a hobby and crafts store where you’ll find plain card, envelopes and card decorations. In this way you can make a good 25 invites for well under a fiver.
